根据欧盟（EC）No 396/2005的第12章的规定，欧盟食品安全局审查了草萘胺的最大残留限量。

为了解草萘胺在植物、加工商品、轮作农作物以及牲畜中的最大残留限量，欧盟食品安全局参考了91/414/EEC号指令当中的结论以及成员国的限量规定。

在现有数据基础之上，EFSA得出最大残留限量提案并开展了消费者风险评估。经过评估，欧盟食品安全局认为，由于缺少部分数据，消费者风险评估仅被认为是指示性的，所以EFSA提出的某些最大残留限量需要进一步的评估。
